Huay Mongkol Temple

Thailand's Largest Luang Phor Thuad Statue

About

Huay Mongkol Temple is home to one of Thailand's largest statues of Luang Phor Thuad, a revered Buddhist monk. Standing 12 meters high, the bronze statue is an impressive sight set against the mountain backdrop.

Locals and visitors come to pay respects and make merit. The temple grounds also feature smaller shrines, a large pond with fish feeding, and elephant statues that visitors walk under three times for good luck.

The peaceful setting and spiritual atmosphere make it a nice contrast to beach activities. Best visited in the morning or late afternoon to avoid midday heat.
